Bocobay Spotlight: Issie, Founder Associate
Every month, we’ll be shining a spotlight on someone from the amazing Bocobay team. This week we have Issie, a Founder Associate based out of our London office, who gives us an insight into her role, what she’s most of proud of so far, her favourite Bocobay vacation rental property and reveals a very interesting fact that most people wouldn’t know about her.

How long have you worked at Bocobay?
Since the London office opened in June 2022 😎
Describe your role?
Founder Associate roles tend to be very generalist, dipping in and out of functions in response to where the action is in the business - I think my role lives up to this! I mostly get involved with finance, people and marketing but overall there is nothing I wouldn’t like to have a go at. I also drag the London team to the pub when they let me.
What can you not do without in the morning?
Contact lenses.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Bocobay?
The autonomy we get over projects is really exciting - it means I’ve been exposed to making important decisions way earlier on in my career than I would have done working in a larger, more corporate company.
What is something that you’re proud of that you’ve accomplished in your role?
Building out the team in London - picking the right people isn’t easy but I’m glad that I was able to contribute to the formation of such a great group of people.
Which Bocobay property is your favourite?
It has to be Boco Beach House!

What is something people don’t know about you?
As a child I used to grab my pet goldfish out of the tank and kiss them on the lips.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Instead of trying to be good at everything, identify your strengths and focus on being amazing at a few things. It’s what will set you apart from the crowd.
Any good recommendations of what to do/see/eat while in Aruba?
The Eduardo’s acai bowl is hands down one of the best things I’ve ever had for breakfast. They have a stand on Palm Beach - it's a great spot to visit early in the morning.
